I am wondering about chicks for Spring, I received a "Ridgeway" catalog and their "Heavy Breed Meaty Cockerals"(not the cornish) are only 50 for $34.00..........isnt that really cheap?
We are looking to get 200 or more......
Does anyone know of a cheaper place? We have "Pastured Poultry".......

I order my chicks from my feed mill. They order from Sunnyside in Wis. I have already been told chicks are going to be hard to get this year. Last year it took 2 extra weeks to get layers, as the hatchery was filliing only large orders. ( a rip ) I usually paid about a buck a piece for chicks, whether meat birds or layers.

I get ours from Belt Hatchery in Fresno, CA. They run a buck a piece.
