I have figured out that I need to clean the hose that leads from my dryer to the outside, it seems to me that I read recently that there is a specific tool for this. I'm pretty sure if I go to the hardware store they will sell me something but I would love to know if anyone has any other methods that don't involve purchasing something Thank you!! Amy Grace

Disconnect your dryer and pull it out, then just vacuum it. That is what I do. If you are worried that your extension might come off while you are vacuuming- seal the joints with duct tape.
Amy Grace if you go to www.flylady.com she has a great dryer lint filter and hose cleaner at a reasonable cost. you have to go down to flylady tools, I believe.

I have a vent brush from fuller brush but you could actually take a broom or something and tie a pillowcase around it and use that and even dampen it a bit....maybe something smaller than a broom....a long handled something or other! LOL! One of those wooly dusters would do the trick also.

We use a pole. On the end is attached a piece of squishy foam. it's tied in the middle, butterfly style and afixed to the pole w/ duct tape.....of course.
Our pipe is hard PVC but lint still gets stuck to the sides when the air from the dryer is humid.
I have also heard that dryer fires are started by 1. fabric softener not rinsed out of the lint catcher/screen inside the dryer and 2. an overloaded dryer set on high. it gets very hot!
Cleaning Dryer Vents????
