As an entrepreneur and farmer myself, (and former psychologist) I am always interested in what makes people do what they do.
Getting into farming is taking a risk. Becoming an entrepreneur is taking a risk. I guess this risk-taking is not for everybody, but I don't think there is a "right" time. It's like trying to find the "right" time to have a baby.
People don't take the leap out of fear (and sometimes real financial issues), but I was surprised to hear the traditional farmers take on this. They urged a potential farmer to take the leap NOW or they would never do it.
