Went to the thrift yesterday and found a 1933 book,"Lawrence and Brett" That is the famous writer D.H. Lawrence. And Dorothy Brett is the author, and also from my understanding, A VERY GOOD FRIEND. Anyway I found a letter in the book from Brett written to whoever owned this book and a small picture. Also two other books and a cute basket.

That's so cool! It's always fun to see the inscriptions and addresses written on the flyleafs of old books, but a letter from the author is really something special.

That is really cool, Nancy. I'm with Heather. You should take that in to the Antiques Roadshow the next time they are in your area.

That is neat, Nancy Jo. Maybe it will be worth something and you can forget about the word 'frugal'. heehee. MB

Oh, wow! What a great find. That book and the picture are wonderful. Holding them is like holding history in your hands. Enjoy! And thanks for sharing!

Do you go to the same Thrift shop every time? Or do you have a few nearby to choose from?
That's such a neat find!

I just love going to my local thrift shop and seeing my own old stuff there...

Yes I guess this really is a good find. I have read the letter several times. Its pretty fragile, I will be reading the book soon.
Leslie, I usually go the same thrift all the time, they put out new things everyday. Who knows what I miss on the days I don't go. Oh, best not to think about that.
