Hey Gals,
I just joined my very first chat forum!!!! I know I am behind the times. My husband and I live in a small town near Athens, Go Dawgs!!
I found Mary Janes Magazine at the news stand and knew that I had found a magazine right up my ally. I was in the retail world for about 20 years. My last job was managing a Sam's club. My father got very ill and I quit my job to take care of him. He passed away almost a year ago and I decided not to go back to that craziness so I started my own business. Hand made gifts. I am in hog heaven!!!
Sorry for the rambeling. Would love to hear from some of you!

Welcome from Lilburn! There are a number of us farmgirls in the metro area.
I'm in the midst of caring for my elderly mom with congestive heart failure in Decatur. I am glad to hear there can be light at the end of the tunnel. I, too, left a job to be available for her.
You must do a show and tell of your hand made gifts!

Tina, Welcome to the forum From Klamath Falls Oregon. I quit my job too and retired last april. Moved back to the "farmgirl "Life & love it. I am sorry to hear about your Dad. My dad passed away 6 years ago yesterday..I still miss him terribly.

Welcome to the forum. Native GA girl here, but now living my farmgirl life over the line in Alabama..but still only 30 minutes back to 'native' soil ;-)
I'm still trying to get the hang of the forum board here myself, being used to using yahoo groups and having all the chat right in my inbox.

Tina, there are 5 of us in the Gwinnett area - right along Hwy. 78
We are the Hens At Home!
We have yet to get together due to my family situation. But we are looking forward to a gathering soon! You will have to come!

I would be honered to come. The name is great! Do all of you stay home? And are any of you grandmothers? family situation? good stuff i hope. 78 is close to my house. I am so excited can you tell I am rambeling.I don't have my sister number yet. but i hope they send it soon.

Most of us are at home and some of us homeschool our kiddos. I have one left at home who is 14 so there is light at the end of MY tunnel!

Been taking care of my mom - 8 days in hospital and then at home with her! Argh! My 25th anniversary was the 6th - a hospital day for mom. So we are taking the weekend for ourselves! Whoo hoo!! Looking forward to getting back to the boring things of life! AND planning a farmgirl teaparty for Feb!

Hey Tina, I'm a little late but just saw this. Of course when I saw Ga. I got exited and thought you'd be close to me. But no, you're way down south. I am up in north Ga. near Chatt. Tn. Oh, well. It's nice to meet you anyway!
