Oh, I would love to swap seeds. I don't know what all I have, but I know I have lots of zinnia seeds. I'll look tomorrow, too. I save zinnia seeds every year. I usually just throw them on the ground when I dead head, but I have a gallon bag of them in the milk room.
Thanks, Kris

I have some popcorn that we love; it is a dark purple kernel and tastes yummmmmy--very flavorful! I don't know its name, I used to buy it from the farmers market and then decided to save some of the ears and plant some kernels that we hadn't eaten :)
The only thing is that maybe 1/3 or so of the plants didn't produce the purple popcorn, but rather yellow. So...being pretty new to gardening, I don't know what to say except that I'm sure it's just a genetic trait that maybe some of the offspring retain the purple color, others have the yellow. But anyhow, it's delicious.
If you're interested, I'd love to trade for veggie/fruit seeds-- |

Hey Michelle. . .it's not sweet corn, but rather popcorn which we dry and then pop! Do you still want some?
If so, I'd love some of your squash or pumpkin or cantaloupe? Let me know! |

Oh, I missed that bit...reading too fast. Purple popcorn (kernels) sound like fun! I'll need a tip or two on harvest/drying as this will be my first try with growing popcorn. I've done sweet and ornamental before though. Guessing it must be more like the ornamental for harvesting. I'll e-mail you an address, you do likewise, and I'll send you some squash, pumpkin and cantaloupe!

hey michelle, how hard is it to grow your petunis from seed? About 3 years ago I tried (3 rounds of seed in 1 season) Needless to say, every batch was unsuccessfull!!!! Therefore I have not tried since. Just gave up and purchased them at garden centers! Now, I prefer to grow al of my own flowers from seed, but I can't live without petunias!!!!!! So, If youhave some really good growing tips and pointers, and have a few seeds laeft, I'd REALLY love to have some!!! Thanks Bunches, Kelley |

Tammy, I don't have any seeds to swap because this is my very first year growing anything from seed! (Well, not counting last year's one tomato plant, one pepper plant, and one eggplant from transplant.)
If you don't mind my asking, how tall are your hollyhocks? Have you had much luck with them reseeding themselves? I have become slightly obsessed with them lately and trying to decide what kind to hunt down. I want to plant them next to my new composter (built out of pallets) but the composter's only 4 ft tall. Trying to decorate it, not hide it!

Hey Amanda, My Hollyhock seeds are the old-fashioned type and I don't think they got that tall last summer. I got the seed from the local mennonite store. They plant them around their outhouses. And last year was the first time I planted them so I will have to wait till spring to see if I have any volunteers! Hope this helps ya!
