I had so much fun making these, I want to make lots more. As far as the pin cushion, Richard bought me some fine gage steel wool, worked really good. The sachets I filled with Yardley Rose powder. They really smell good. I think the yardley powders and soaps hold there scent for a long time. Kind of hard to find. I know Vermont Country Store sells them.

Well, aren't those just too pretty! I've never thought of using steel wool in a pincushion before. Or rice or coffee grounds, either. I guess you could just stuff them with whatever.

Exactly how do you use coffee grounds to stuff a pincushion? I mean do you have to do anything special to it? Do you just use it like bean bag sand? I'd love to know. :) hugs

Not sure Jess. I put the used grounds this morning in the mico. to dry, then put them in a container. When I get enough I will will fill a pin cushion and see how it works. I guess you could use new coffee. It would sure smell better. I will let you know how it works. I'm going to try rice next.

Very cute Nancy Jo! You remind me of what was written about Tasha Tudor...her hands were never still. |

Jan, what a nice thing to say. I have all of Tasha's books, and I found out her maiden name was Burgess, same as mine. It is a very wonky world.

Well Nancy Jo...time to check out your family tree...who knows, maybe somewhere along the line...I was so excited once for about 5 minutes because I found out I had family in South Dakota with the last name of Ingalls and that's where Charles and Caroline had settled. But then my bubble burst because I realized they never had a son to pass on the name. Oh well... |

Those are very pretty. And the little jewelry pieces add a lot to the sachets, too. Good job.

Nancy Jo, Where do you get your Yardley rose powder? I've heard of Yardley soaps but never really knew where I could find it. :) hugs
