The funny thing is I don't remember delivered milk. There was a time when my mother had a case of bottled soda delivered for her. I moved to Bermuda in 1959 and lived there for 2 years, that was all British so when I came back to the States it was the 60s. I actually remembered all but 3 of the things on the list. You will not hear me say that things were "better" then, we have it much better nowdays. This is a fun quiz...Alee, I knew you were kinda "young" LOL

My parents told me the first tv they bought was because I came home from first grade talking about Captain Kangaroo that the kids watched. It was black and white of course...that was about 1956. Then when color tv was invented and made affordable for homes they bought their first color after I moved out at age 19. Mom got her first dishwasher then too because she wouldn't make my younger sister do all the dishwashing since I moved out. My mother never washed a dish as soon as I turned 5 years old because she said that's what daughters were for.

I remember 14. But one was the milk bottle delivery that my mom told me about. I don't actually remember seeing them ,I was too young then. So what is a PF Flyer? And I really miss the table juke boxes. They were so cool. And the drive ins. Such good memories there. Mom and dad would take us once a month to the drive-in. We'd have our pj's on because we'd always be asleep by the time we got home. There was a playground at the front by the screen. We'd play til the movie came on.
Oh what fun memories!

I got 14 too, that I actually remember seeing. Others that I am familiar with but was told about - I'm 38, maybe "civilization" came late to our corner of the world:) Amy Grace

A PF Flyer is a red wagon. It is all metal with the words painted in white. They were for toys and big enough for a couple kids to sit in and ride while another kid pulled. Isn't the PF Flyer a part of one of the old classic Christmas movies?

Well, yes. A Christmas Story. I didn't recall the PF part. I thought it was Radio Flyer. Probably the same thing. Thanks for reminding me!

Hate to say it, I remember every single one of them. When I was a kid, the milkman would leave the bottles in a wooden box in a ditch by our horse chestnut tree. I can remember watching Howdy Doody on someone's television before we had one. i hated it, but I watched it It was television! I must be older than dirt squared! And I guess I am...

tennis shoes! Does it make me "younger" because I didn't actually remember them....or "older" because my memory is fading....LOL oh...the dilemas!!!!

Oh boy, I remember 22 of them. I don't remember the butch wax or the newsreels. I once asked the milkman if his name was "Lee" because that's what it said on the back of his striped coveralls! Do you remember the x-ray machines in the shoe stores!!? |
