Ann I made my own pattern, lol. I just "designed" it with the original Frilly bag in mind.
But I think I have to use an existing pattern, because I am really stumped. Not only with the back and front, sort of that out. But with the handle. AH well, it was worth the try :)

Maybe if you make one with a pattern first, then you can figure out how to do the one from your own imagination? Also, in the initial post, the second link has some directions, if that helps...

Can you get any of the patterns (McCall's, Butterick, Simplicity) we listed on one of the previous pages over there? If you can find them on sale, that may be a cheap fix...

Does anyone want to see the fabric I decided on today. Monica likes vintage flowers and olive color.
I'll take a pic if its ok.

Marian, maybe you can adjust the ties on this free pattern for the Retro Tie Bag (note, you will need to enter your email address in order to get the PDF instructions).

Anne, I'm not hearing back from Alee about her color preferences and to be honest, I"m losing my interest in this swap. Can you pair up Alee and KHartQuilts? I think it would be easier if I dropped out. Thanks!

I made my first bag, sort of...
I decided to use a home deco fabric. Well, the fabric is actually too thick to make ruffles. So....I didn't add the ruffles and I now have a new bag for myself.
I have another bag started using quilt/cotton fabric. The ruffles are working out just fine. I should be finished by the weekend and hopefully mailing by the 23rd.

I haven't been able to start yet. The car wreck is really making it hard for me to sit in one place to craft. I'll get her done though!

lol lol yep--funny Ann!

I have Monicas's done! I've shared some pics with people but she didn't want me to ruin the surprise so I won't put pic here.
I have to say that I was surprised at how easy it was to make.
I made strips of 5 inch wide fabric the 45 inch normal width of cotton. Then I made tubes out of it and gathered in the middle...only one out of the 4 was stiff to pull the gathers...but the rest were ok. I made the pattern a little smaller than the pic so only 4 frills would fit, but I think it's ok. I drew the simple pattern all one piece using my pattern as a guide for size and looking at the pic in the first post. The "in the making" pic.
How is everyone else coming along?
