I spent a few days at the hospital with my best friend and my Bread Mother "died" while I was away. She grew a full head of grey fuzzy hair. :( I'm starting over today. I'm not one to give up. Thank y'all for all your help and support, it really does mean the world to me. (hugs)

Wow! It's been a while! After throwing my mother away 3 or 4 times, I started a new one on Tuesday. I have no idea what went wrong. I was getting wonderful bread and suddenly it was awful. Thinking positive thoughts!

I made my second loaf of sourdough bread yesterday and it was just delightful. But even better was the sourdough spice cake with coconut butter frosting I made. Holy cow was it good. Bread the Mary Jane way is certainly easier than other methods I've been exposed to. Thanks! |

Bev, I think I might have to steal your bread mothers name. Cracks me up every time you call her that. Sorry you had to toss her out.

My bread wasn't perfect but good enough to feel success. Again, my mother is only 2 weeks. It seems a month is when bread really comes out well, in my experience. Making more blueberry muffins today-they are really great!

I used flour from MJF and holy crow is she bubbling away! Such a difference from the organic flour from the store. I will take a photo when I tend to her tomorrow and post it here. I have a great feeling about this Miss.Hoochie ;o)

No she's all fresh and new. It's amazingbthe difference between the 2 organic flour types. I wish I would have started one with the store bought flour at the same time so I could experiment. Loving my Hoochie mama! Hugs to you all!

I am going to start today! That's all I can say. I have everything I need and I am going to do it.
Once I took a sourdough class at the library and they gave us some "mother". Any local farmgirls around 98252 that have mother that they'd share or is it best to start your own? Or both! Thanks! Stephanie

I need to make more blueberry muffins! My husband took all that was left on a job yesterday. Tried making bread again...not so good. It's edible. Wish I could figure out what the difference is. It doesn't get cooked all the way through...I'll keep trying!
