I think we need to start thinking about signing up for the second round of secret pals since the first circle will be ending on Valentine's Day and maybe the second can start on Valentine's Day? Anyway, this time around I don't think I can be one of the leaders since I just have zero free time lately. I still want to participate though. Is there anyone else willing to be the group leader and get the second round started?

I want to sign up for it. I don't know about being a leader...I could co lead with someone so that way it's two working on it together. Let me know Sue if you are willing. I loved the last Secret pal and I think it would be fun to do it again!

Hi Kristin!
Last time they got everyone's info who wanted to participate and then the leader sent everyone a name of someone else. Then over the course of something like 5 months we were suppose to send at least one letter a month, and at least on package with gifts in it. Most of us did it during the holidays! Then on Valentine's day we reveal ourselves to our secret pal. It's fun, because in the first email we let the leader know what we like and a little about ourselves so that is sent to our secret pal who has our name!
It's lots of fun!

It doesn't take a whole lot to be a leader. Basically, everyone who wants to participate will e-mail the leader with her name, address, e-mail, and interests. When the deadline hits the leader will match up the farmgirls (I just drew names, didn't match them up by interests). So for an example,you just match it up like: babysmama sends to cottagegirl, cottagegirl sends to 5 acrefarmgirl, etc. Then you e-mail babysmama the info on cottagegirl so she can start to send things to her. It is a big circle so no farm girl sends to the person that she receives from. You keep a running list somewhere so that if someone has a problem with her farmgirl such as not receiving anything you can contact her and see what the problem is and match her up with a new farmgirl if it isn't working out. I've only had to do that twice this time around so it really isn't too time involved but I just can't add anything extra to the plate.
It is actually best if there are two leaders and you split the list in half so that those leaders can also be a secret farmgirl, they just give their name to the other leader to match them up. Since Sue and Laura were the first to volunteer I will offer it to them.
I do hope that we can include ALL farmgirls this time. Last time I had to turn away those from overseas and Canada but I'm hoping we can fit them in somehow this time around. Any questions?

Sue, you can e-mail Laura and get things started already. If you want it to start on Valentines Day I think now is a good time to start the sign up. The first round is going for 4 months, but I wonder if that is a little long and makes people tend to forget about it...maybe three months would be better? You can start a thread for signing up and those who want to sign up can e-mail you with their info. Sue, if you or Laura have any questions you can e-mail me.
