Does anyone know if its okay to sleep in hot rollers? I mean obviously, you'd want to wait until they'd cooled down and apart from them being not so very comfortable. I hate theose dumb sponge rollers. They get to be knotted tangled mess in my hair. I have a lot of it, and the idea of rolling it up every morning before I do anything just doesn't appeal. I end up not doing my hair, except for the besic brush-thru, later in the morning or early afternoon. Sometimes, though I need to go places and well, we all know how that can be.
So, my question is....is it okay to sleep in hot rollers? lol

Ouch!
Nope. My hair is too short.
I remember the pink plastic rollers though Mom use to use on my hair
Talk about a sore head I had one
I think you'd let those rollers you are talkng about cool
I don't recall sleeping in those though. hugs pinkroses

Ouch! Those hot ones sure are hard. Dont think it would feel too good. They do have rollers that aren't sponge that you might look into. They have plastic that are larger. I think with the sponge we tend to wrap tight because the sponge squishes down, but with the plastic, that won't happen. I know my grandma used to have some plastic ones that looked like larger net & had a cover that popped on the roller over your hair to keep them on. I think they still have some like that out there. I found these. http://www.sallybeauty.com/Snap-On-Rollers/SLNCAR47,default,pd.html?cgid=Hair14-01 or these http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10319836

I would try useing Velcro rollers instead of the hot rollers- they have a lot more give than the hot roller- a little more comfortable. Give it a whirl.

here's a soft roller:
http://www.amazon.com/pillow-roller-rollers-culers-color/dp/B000TC9OYC

also..you can actually take strips of fabric and roll your hair up in that and tie.
-----------------
Rag rolling is a method of curling hair that is making a comeback in recent years. This method has been used for centuries as an inexpensive and effective way to achieve long-lasting curl. It is even credited as the way many women in medieval times used to create a riot of curls. Rag rolling is exactly what the name implies; you use small pieces of material, or rags to roll your hair. These rags can be from leftover sewing materials, old sheets or most any strips of cotton or linen. Strips one inch wide are ideal and the length of the fabric depends on the length of your hair.

It is advisable to wash your hair the day before you rag roll unless your hair is heavily soiled. Dampen your hair and starting with the ends, wrap your hair around the fabric strip near one end. Work your way up the fabric strip evenly until the hair is wound almost to the scalp. You will want to make sure you leave some fabric on both sides of the rag. Simply tie both ends of the rag together near the scalp after winding, making sure it is not too tight for comfort. Leave the rags in your hair overnight and be sure the hair is completely dry in the morning before removing the rags. When wrapped properly the rags should unwind with ease when you remove them.
