Ok DH has decided he wants to have a couple bee hives, I am all for this..WOW! he surprised me on this one...just think Our own honey and chickens & eggs.
Confession In my (1st previous mulligan) marriage my husband raised bees for orchard pollination, and our own honey production, so I have a ,imited knowledge, Are there any other bee keepers who we can glean some info? he is looking into taking a class on beekeeping, He found one he can attend while visiting his brother in Portland.but thats quite a drive like 5 hours... Nothing here in K falls as far as classes...

Hello!
I have kept bees for about a year now. We have 3 hives, and are looking to add some more next year. I LOVE it!

Besides taking a class, the other things that helped me get started are:

Reading everything about it I could get my hands on!
Joining our local bee club. Lots of helpful people there.
A good place to go for info. is www.beesource.com. Great bulletin board site.

Feel free to e-mail me anytime as well.
