the New Year in? My Husband & I will have a steak dinner shortly and I splurged & bought us each a really expensive piece of cake at our local bakery. * His request* Thanks goodness. I need Chocolate! We will probably read , watch Tv & wait for the sleep fairies to come sing us to slee about 11:00 if I can wait that long to slip into my Pajamies & under the warm comforter.

We are going to get a good night's sleep and hope that everything gets better in the new year. My Fiance came home early today after being laid off at work. We are not in much of a mood tonight to celebrate. But for everyone else, Happy New Year!!

Oh Tina - I'm so sorry, what a day to find that out. Hope things improve in the next year!!
We had grilled cheese and tomato soup, are going to have some leftover cake and hot cocoa and then go to bed around 9. I let my crew sleep in on New Year's Day so I have to be at work at 6 - that means the alarm goes off at 4. At least I'll get a jump on 2009

I have not done a thing in years for New Year's eve except hit the hay as usual. I do not like getting out at night anymore and especially not on a cold night. I just talked to my hubby who's in Texas. He's going to bed, too.

So happy new year, ya'll! I will pray your fiance has a much better job this new year, Tina.

Tina, so sorry you got bad news today. That's a real bummer. But there's hope and here's to a better year to you and yours!

I haven't done anything in years, either Kristin. I've never been able to stay awake long enough! But this year, I'm drinking caffeine and playing on the computer until I'm darn well good and done with it.

I just found this jukebox site and this song is so fitting for me this year:

"I Can See Clearly Now"

http://www.tropicalglen.com/Jukebox/YR-1972.html

I just finished singing it twice while dancing with my dog! I'm going to sing it again at midnight. And dance with Cody again, too (if he wants to). I feel so inspired right now! Next year is going to be a wonderful and productive year for me, I can feel it! I will make it happen! Nothing the world throws at me is going to throw me off. Whatever happens, I'll handle it and keep flying! Ok, I'm typing way too fast. Breathe, breathe deep. I think I'm a little high on caffeine, maybe. It's ok, I feel happy and I'm going to be happier in the year to come!!! Woohoo, bring it on! I'm ready for it...

I've never really been one for loud crowded places at New Year's, so DD and I had a nice lamb chop dinner (homegrown). Now we're watching Phantom of the Opera on tv and I'm on the 'puter. She and I have been working hard while I've been off this week so I'm pretty bushed and will probably hit the hay shortly.

Happy New Year to all the night owls. Have a safe and fun celebration. See you all tomorrow...I mean next year

My mom and dad treated our little family to a nice Italian dinner, then Nora and I got to see Doug for the first time in a bout a 3 weeks. It is so nice to be home. Then Doug and I watched the countdown together and soon I will be going to bed.

Dearest Sister Tina...my Dh is laid off also, and we were not much in the mood for a new year, but, we both looked at each other and said, "Oh well", things could be worse, we still have a roof over our heads, food in the cellar and freezers, good health, and those that love us...so what else could we ask for?
Now, its just trusting the "one above" for the finances....
