This is a two part post:
1. If you are still struggling with the 12 days of Christmas challenge, make a New Year's resolution to try to get at least two "days" done by next Christmas. If you want to be more dilligent, do one "day" every month. They were 12 different ideas, just to try. Have fun. If you're frustrated with them, blow'em off. Life's too short!

2. The New Year New Craft Challenge (ta-dah!)
Look through your stash (or what's left of it), and find a new craft that uses your supplies. For example, a rag rug crocheted from fabric scraps. Just an example. Think about it - be creative and have fun!!!!! Oh, and post photos, please, of finished projects.

Can't wait to see your projects!

OK, I didn't do the 12 days challenge but I've decided to work on these both in 2009. I definitely have plenty of stash, of all kinds.

I want to try bead animals maybe ..if i get time today. and i turned a wooden bookmark into a necklace...so that was repurposing :P And i took a broken rainbow colored strap and used for a jewelry cord...another repurposing piece to use up stash..

I was inspired by tim burtons's corpse bride and nightmare before xmas. This little fella has bone beads on his feet. Little faces are carved in the bone beads. I made him on 18 ga wire. I will eventually put him on a necklace for myself .

thanks ! They were alot of fun to make. I actually did start a new craft last night --will get pics of them soon as my batteries charge for the camera. I was using thick crocheted chains and sewing them into small coiled baskets. Really fun and much thicker than crochet .

For yarn baskets..I take 3 strands of yarn --i like to use a reg --an eyelash and maybe a confetti dot together. I will then make a crocheted chain with it....i usually just crochet the whole amount of yarn up that I have. Then I take that and sew the chains to each other into a circular small shape around 6 to 7 inches. I fold 2 sides up a tad and take same chain and make a handle. and sew to either side of the circle . It is like making a coiled fabric basket in theory. Alot stronger than just a crocheted yarn basket ..which is easy to do also.

I'm using up my yarn stash and making a "mesh" style tote bag. I'll post pics when I'm done!
