I just had a customer come in and tell me how wonderful these soaps were. They seem expensive, but I requested wholesale info to see what I could sell them for. To me they're fascinating, but it's so hard to know what will and won't sell... http://www.tspink.com/soaprocks.shtml
Some retailers have them for $10 or so, which isn't bad for 7 oz.

That seems like a lot of money. I realize they are beautiful and certainly different but I would be afraid to use it after spending almost $15 for a bar of soap! That's just my opinion of course.

Well and here is another thing to think about- she says in the ingredient's list that she uses vegetable glycerin... uhm...that is really really cheap. So are her other ingredients. Not that they are bad...just inexpensive. So what you are paying for is the art of the piece. I can just about tell you how she does it too. She dyes the glycerin the jewel tones and some of the glycerin gets the additives such as the clay and such. then she marbles them to resemble real gems and then once they are done hardening, she cuts them to look like rock. So I would say unless you could sell them for around $6-8 a bar... I wouldn't invest. On the other hand, ask her how her sales are. If she wants to supply your store then she should be willing to give you a ballpark idea. Either "Yes they sell like hotcakes...can't keep them on the shelf" or "It's a specialty market so I have come to expect them to hang around for a while".

They might go like hotcakes at a rock hound festival.

I saw the glycerin too Alee. I was thinking of those as novelty impulse buys, and not stocking a lot of them. Will revisit idea when we CAN by what we want, and not just what we need.
