I was watching HGTV Top 10 Christmas Towns and during the segment of a town in the Ozarks they had made carved ornaments out of wooden thread spools. I found this interesting site http://www.fabrics.net/joan603.asp Now where did I put all those spools I have been saving. JoAnn

Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work You don't give up.
That is so funny because I was just telling my dad that he should start doing this! I have old wooden spools and he has been getting into woodcarving so I just told him about this lol!
Those are so cool. I have wooden spools, I might have to try that! BTW Karen, I got the rug instructions, thanks, I'm sending a card your way in the mail tomarrow, that is, if the mail is running. We are supposed to get 8 more inches of snow tonight.

This is only an idea. I make homemade checker boards. Why not make the checkers out of wooden thread spools? I might just try this the next time I make my checker boards.
