How do you display your Christmas cards? I been using an upside down old rusted tomato cage to hang our cards on. Got a picture on my blog, along with some homey Christmas things around the homestead. I have had a cold and now I'm getting in the spirit of Christmas. Oh and check who came for a visit last night : )
Besure and share how you show off your cards and what do you do with them after Christmas. Do you send a lot of E-cards and rec e-cards? Christmas cards have lessen through the years, do you see that as well? Do you send cards with family pic on them, i think those are cool. Also from distance relitives we get Christmas letter update,do you do that or get those? Do you make your own cards?
Merry Christmas : )

LOVE your blog, and what a pretty Granddaughter you have! SO sweet, and love the pink outfit, lol.
I have not yet put my cards on display, will do so tomorrow. I will hang a string along the ceiling, well somewhere a bit down the wall more like. And hang the cards on there with little wooden clothes pins. I did that the last 2 years and it looks cute. But this year I need more string, lol. MORE cards to display now :)
I always keep them, I love Christmas cards. I just saw a cute idea this afternoon at the friends house. They always keep their cards in the plastic (yes I know, me bad) sleeves and put those in binders. SO might do that this year. I have the ones from last few years too. Like I said, I love cards :)
I have received a few e-cards. They are NOT my fave,m but SO sweet that the friends though of me and send me one anyways. SO I keep those in my email folder.
I would like to receive the picture cards, but never get one. AND also the letters, would be nice I guess. I got one last year and liked it so much. Fun to read what the family has been up to through out the year.
I am not a big card maker, but love to receive them. I guess I am not the patient kind of gal to make my own cards, lol. I have a lot of patience with most crafts but NOT with making cards. Silly I know. But as I said, I like to receive them.
Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)

I love your Christmas card display, what a brilliant idea, and all those lovely grandchildren with Santa, it just makes me smile. I remember looking at your blog when you made your outpost and the story tree for the children. It is delightful to see all the pictures and read your family adventures. My plan is to put a string on the mantel with the cards on it ( I have some teeny wooden clothespins to attach them). Years ago I always made all my cards. This year I have misplaced my address book so I have really gotten into trouble. I hope to discover it soon. When I get my mantel done I will post a picture...
I must say I dislike the e cards, It has been such a treat this year to be in a card swap, lots of nice cards are arriving, My mailbox got smashed olff its post yesterday so I guess I better get that fixed soon....
Happy holidays.

I saw something in a magazine that had branches in a big tall vase that had cards on the branches with clothes pins. I think I'd like to try that this year. I found a pile of curly willow branches at a friends house I think I'll get. Maybe put some red and green ribbon on, too. It looked really pretty. Maybe on a buffet or piano.

I hang some rope across the top of the wall and pin the cards up there with clothespins. IT is cute and out of reach of little one's hands.

Marian, our farmgirl from the Netherlands. I love the hanging cards with clothspins , the big ones and tiny ones too. I got all the cool stuff to make cards but not all the cool time, I should make time : ).
Karin I love mantels all decked out, I'll be waiting to see what you have done to yours this season Kris I would like to see that, if you do maybe show a picture for us, sounds really pretty
Heather, hey there cowgirl. Out of reach of little ones , lol. DD says all the tree trimmings are up high on their tree and zip on the bottom, lol. Our tree is packed on the bottom from the kiddies decorating, several have fallen off already, lol.
Marybeth, WOW your pictures are great I laughed at the snow covered bike, every detailed showed. Pictures of your place is beautiful, I'm going back and read some more.
Thanks everyone for stopping by my blog.

Linda- I don't have tinsel this year for a reason. We call it the simple tree. Charlie is fascinated with all the bells on the tree. Yes, the bottom row is sparse. : ) That and one wiggly Boxer behind make it interesting. : )

Marian, I love to send and receive cards. I do not make many either. I love crafting, but not when it comes to cards. (But I am trying to improve) My husband has started sending yearly update letters with our cards. I was not all to thrilled with the idea, but, well, it is kind of nice to find out what is happening. So...send my your address and I will add you to my holiday card mailing list. I would love to receive a card from outside the USA.

A little late in my answer, but we tape them on the back of the front door, so when we're sitting in our little cottage living room, we can see all of them. It's sortof nice that way :)
My mother told me that my Great Grandmother did the same--maybe it's a subliminal thingee from my childhood |
