Today, as a break from finals at college, I took a Silk Painting class at our local library (FREE!) We painted a silk scarf and I used paint, stamps for the designs and plain old salt sprinkled to give it a marbled effect. It must cure for 24 hrs. then you iron it, wash it out and Then I will post the pic. I used this turquoise blue, a fern stamp, and accented with yellow, green, and purple. It was fun!

Haven't silk painted (yet)...but have some white silk ribbon that I intend to dye one day. In case you haven't visited Dharma Trading before here is the link to their silk painting section..lots of good info and good prices on silk.

Yes, Dharma is where our instructor got some of her supplies. Today I ironed it, then washed it as instructed 1st in warm water, then in hot..looks ok. Tomorrow I will wear it to work and see if anyone comments..
