I saw some very cute ones in a magazine that were knit to look like hats. So adorable.

I am so very excited!! I cannot wait to make this. I just posted two of the quilts I made this summer on my blog. I use a lot of repro fabrics and think I will use them for this project!

If anyone is still looking for patterns (or maybe just an idea or two), Simplicity has a few in their home dec pattern section.

I *think* I am going to use recycled felted wool.......do you think one layer would be insulating enough? I am worried one layer would not be able to keep the pot warm? I have tons left over from making gnome type hats.......

Terri, wool felt is very insulating - I'm pretty sure that if you use one layer it will be ok, but if you think it would be better to use two... Just trust your own judgment. Maybe you could use a small scrap and make a prototype that insulates a mug to see? Just a rectangle, perhaps, stitched together to make a tube then gathered to make a cone, and slid over the mug?

Hey, maybe we'll have to start a mug cozy swap!

I make cup cozies for to-go cups.......wool felt on one side, cotton on the other. I have yet to make one for a mug....but want to try to make one for my french press (we use it when camping....and it cools off so quick!)

very cute..i have made several of those over the years, especially when we used to own a coffee shop.

and yes a french press cozy is a must and will certainly work, they have no insulatory qualities of their own.

A french press is a non-electric coffee maker. You put the grounds in it, then press them through the hot water to make coffee.

I would love to be in the swap. I collect Teapots, but have no cozies. I even bought a fabric teapot pincushion at Joann's the other day! This would be great fun! What a nice way to start the New Year -- the last year wasn't the best, but that will change this year -- onward and upward! Thanks so much!
