please go and check out the gift shop for Shop the Frontier! They are moving into a new facility on Main Street and have all kinds of great handmades for sale. I just delivered a dozen jackets and a quilt over there and I was told that there will be a lot of new goodies to drool over. A little too far for me to go look see, so anyone in the area, please check it out and let us know how it looks!

Dalyn, I've never been there but in looking at the map, it's way far from you. It's up above Colville - now that I think of it, I think Joann - Mountain Girl - lives up there. Maybe she can go check it out for me!

Republic is almost to the Canadian border. My husband went up there 2 years ago on vacation. One day we plan to retire and move there. All the little towns are so sweet and homey. We shopped the shops in Colville, Republic and Kettle Falls. y husband lived there years ago and I just fell in love with the area.

i grew up in Republic and many of my great friends have art at shop the frontier! I was just there selling my soap, paper, & yarn with many of the artists talking about the new location. They all seem to be very pleased! One of my buddys there was just in Maryjanes last book on pg 207 i believe tiffany reynolds I took her up a signed copy I grabbed for her in Rosalia as a suprise .... what a small world this is but its always happening for a very beautiful reason! Your things are amazing and you are in great company with all my Ferry county Republic Family!

Republic is in Ferry County, west and a tad north of Colville. It's at the intersection of Hwy.20 and Hwy 21. Very remote. Lovely little Western looking town. I have to go over Sherman Pass which is the highest mountain pass that is kept open during the winter so I probably wont't get over there until spring when we visit friends who have a cabin there. Republic is also the site of Stonerose Fossil where you can dig for fossils for a nominal fee. Great fun. JoAnn

Jaime, Where did you live growing up in Republic? When we first moved here four years ago we rented a cabin on top of a ridge off Barrett Creek Road for three and 1/2 months. Boy did we have a view! Got to know the "town deer". Volunteered at Stonerose. They have opened a new gold mine near Cusick so the economy has picked up a little bit. JoAnn

I lived in Republic for awhile many years ago. In a little cabin by a stream. My husband's relatives (Hendricks and Browns) lived there for many years and his cousin still lives there--I think. I loved it there, was back for a visit about 3 years ago. I still love it. MB

I talked to the gal who took my things over there last week and she tells me they are not quite moved into their new space yet - still occupied by a liquor store! But the move should be completed by January. I guess they're in the same building now, but just not on Main St. I'm looking forward to visiting myself this summer.
