Since I practically live at the store now, lots of kitchen things from home have made their way here. I was never a big coffee drinking, but I'm finding that it really gets me through the day, especially now that I am here until 7 at nite!

Anywho, I ran out of coffee filters, and I really really needed a cup of coffee, so I found some cotton fabric, and whipped up a quick and simple reusable coffee filter! They sell these things online I think, but why buy one when you can make one yourself? Just use whatever kind of filter fits your coffee maker, and it doesnt have to fit perfect, just make sure it's tall enough because it will sag down a bit once it gets wet. I dont know if this will work in all coffee makers, but I have a little Two to Go coffee maker, and it's been working fine for 2 months now. I'm sure you could run it through the dishwasher to clean it, but I just rinse mine and ring it out real well.

Not only will you NEVER have to buy coffee filters again, but for us farmgirls it makes lite work of composting your coffee grounds(since you have to clean them out of the filter after each use, rinse, and let it dry) So I keep a big old coffee can by the coffee maker and the used grounds go in there.

What a great idea, Cristine! You should make them for your shop and maybe sell them in a rolled up bundle of two! You could tie it with raffia or something and sell them for say $5 so they would be way cheaper than paper filters!

I could but i dont know what other shapes other coffee makers take. I guess I can go look at the store and get an idea. I know there aren't too many other types.

You are genius Alee! did you get my email with the link to your dolls?
