I am working on an edging to attach to towels for Christmas presents..never done this before. There is a solid foundation chain so it looks like I would sew through that to attach to the towel (not right at the edge but maybe up as high as the edging is wide)..my question is ...is that the only place to attach the edging? Do I need to tack it down anywhere else? or would the edge of the towel be the best place to sew it on? thanks for your help! janiee farmgirl #390
I haven't tried this but someone told me that you can use an awl to make a small hole in the towel and crochet it right onto the towel. Maybe someone else has tried this? Ruth
No, it's more of a lace edging for the bottom of the towel..bathroom, not kitchen and it is worked from side to side width wise not lengthwise. love the pictures though...so festive! and a good idea...I don't cook much so those are just too cute...almost inspirational (for cooking) :)
Janie, I have put crocheted edgings on the edge of towels just sewing the foundation row to the edge of the towel and I have also attached it further up the towel so the color can be seen through the crocheting. Hope you'll give it a try either way.
