Is anyone doing this? I just finished reading Eat Right For Your Blood Type and it was quite fascinating. My naturopath suggests doing this kind of eating so it's something I decided to look into. I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this and if you'd be interested in sharing how it's worked for you.

HI Elizabeth,
I love Paul D'Adomo's book, and it seems there is a lot of science behind it. How is it working for you?

Elizabeth,
My aunt followed this diet to a "T" & lost a ton of weight. She is on O, as are most of us, & she still eats this way. She started this several years ago, & still remains the skinniest one in our family.

I have heard of it, but I dont know my blood type. My friend read it and she says she's supposed the eat the all natural caveman style foods because she has an "old" blood type....Not sure about her caveman food, but I am probably lacking in iron...so I would lok to look into the dietary suggestions

My father and his wife followed this diet for quite a few years (I think they followed it for about 8 or 9 years). While they both lost weight, my father ended up in big trouble with a few nutritional needs following the diet for his blood type. After talking with his doctor, they determined that this diet is not right for him.

If you choose to try this diet, make sure you discuss it with your doctor first. Also, keep discussing the results and your dietary needs with your doctor. This is a wonderful diet, but keep in mind that what is "right" for one person may not be "right" for every person, even if you do have the same blood type.

Thank you for the comments! I appreciate hearing how it's worked out for different people, be it good or bad. I can understand how this is like any "eating plan" it's just not one size fits all. I think that I am going to be starting it for the new year. I'm a type O so I'm going to start with removing dairy and wheat from my diet and then take it from there.

Cristine, your friend is probably a type O as well because that diet focuses more on lean meats because of the extra stomach acid that a type O tends to have in their stomach.

I am very interested in seeing how this works for me and I will report back once I start and begin to notice changes.

According to the book the A blood type should have a more vegan diet. I'd think you could find the book at your library, it really has some interesting science behind it and gives a lot of neat information about each blood type and how/why each of them came about.
