A year or so ago my cellphone fell into the toliet. Believe it or not...it still worked after I took out the battery and let it dry out. It was almost as much fun as ten years ago when I still smoked, getting up in the middle of the night and set myself on fire trying to put the butt into the toliet. Ouch + gross, enough said!

Ok..another one...while in the military, our uniform has a metal buckel on one end that is heavy and it is only held on by a claw like clasp that slides through...now I had to "Go" to the bathroom and was in a hurry, I did my business, flushed and then looked and saw my buckle try to go down the toilet..well, I had to rescue it because how was I going to leave without a noticeable belt missing? Needless to say, I went home, HOT WATER washed everything I was wearing and took a long shower. SHEESH!!!

Isn't it funny the things we'll go after in there?

Connie, that is so funny about putting the "butt" in the toilet!!! Too cute. I know what you meant but it just hit me funny.

My toilet is right next to the shelf that holds everything bathroom. The brush, earrings, hair bands, you name it, it's been in there. But there are some things I will not go in after, esp. if it's dirty at the time.

Hehe! I dropped my cellphone in there!! Not fun! lol...Everyone heard me when it dropped.I was at work and had set my phone on the back of the potty long enough to wash my hands. It went off on the vibrate setting when someone called, and scooted itself right into the bowl! It took me two days to dry it out so that I could use it. Believe me, it was no picnic knowing that I didnt have a choice but to use that thing near my face. I bought a hands free set in a hurry!! lol..(I sprayed it with Lysol of course, but still........)lol

I found a pricey gold bracelet caught on the hinge of a toilet seat about 20 years ago. It was at the restaurant where I worked. No one ever asked if it had been found, so it was eventually mine. I would have been devastated to have lost it and felt bad, but surely not going to offer it to every customer.
The new power auto flush toilets in most stores are kinda scary..if you dropped something important, it would be gone before you could grab it.

When my brother and I were kids, we had a bathroom between our two bedrooms and we'd bounce a "superball" through the 2 open doors at night when we went to bed (until we were yelled at to go to sleep!). One day I was sitting on the toilet and he was bouncing the ball around his room and it went nuts and bounced right in the toilet after I'd just peed. We just looked at each other and flushed. Never told anyone. Never got in trouble either!

Ok -- this is another one of those weird stories, but true >> When dh & I first were married, we lived in a really beat up old cabin way high up in the Calif. mtns. -- our toilet was forever backing up, so we called the town plumber to come out & see what the problem was.

The one owner, crawled around the toilet, making lots of grumbling and yelling and bashing sounds. Finally he walks out of the bathroom with a toothbrush in his hand, yelling, "Well! If you didn't brush your teeth in the toilet, it wouldn't be so bad!!" The previous group of renters had somehow flushed a toothbrush down the toilet. That along with taking the cupboard doors off every cabinet in the kitchen, stealing wood from the shed, etc., etc. -- We could only laugh and write it off to "Our First Place" !!

While camping in a very out of the way place I dropped the keys to the car, house, and boat and the place where I was working in the out house. No I did not go in after them.

Car keys for me too, Diana. They were in my back pocket. I was over at someone else's house. Not pleasant.

I dropped my work telephone in the toliet and it never worked again, so I had to get a new one. My boss probably wasn't too happy but it was about time to replace it anyway.

When I was a child....I dropped a brand new roll of toliet paper in the pot! My mom was super made...as it was the last roll and the store was not close to home!

Me. :( I remember right after I had my first child and had to potty in the middle of the night. Not wanting to wake anyone up, I tip-toed to the bathroom in the dark and sat down, only to end up in some very cold water. Yep, the hubs had left the seat up! Honestly. I no longer worry about waking someone up- the light automatically goes on.

Oh my gosh, how I laughed reading all of these! One time I emptied the dirty water container from my carpet shampooer into the toilet and a piece fell off and I didn't see it and my hubby ended up having to take the toilet apart to get it out! I have fished out plenty of things from my kids, including Bob the builder figures to whole rolls of toilet paper!

Once my mom, who has now passed, was travelling with three other widows and they shared a hotel room. Mom put her dentures in a cup on the back of the toilet and they accidentally slipped in and got flushed down by one of the other women! There she was miles from home and no teeth. She was so mortified, and I think it put a strain on that friendship. Dentures cost a lot, and the other lady could not help out.....it was a mess. I always felt so sad thinking of my mom with no teeth, and how embarrassed she must have been. Sorry about the downer story.....I just remember it so vividly.

A couple of years ago we were at my in-laws' house for Thanksgiving. I went to the bathroom and used the last of the roll of toilet paper, so I got a new roll out and took the toilet paper holder off to slide the roll on. Well, it was one of those 2 piece holders (I didn't even know they came that way!) and one end slid off and fell right in the toilet - which of course I hadn't flushed yet. I stood there and gaped at it for a sec, and then I decided I'd use the toilet brush to hold the metal holder there while I flushed so I could stick my hand in and rescue it. I had no idea how strong toilets are - I flushed and with one "clink" that thing was GONE! Oh, it was awful - I had visions of it being stuck deep inside the pipes and them having to tear floors up, etc....plus I had to go out and explain what I'd did...I was mortified!! Hee hee! Luckily it never caused any problems!

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
