I've been knitting a lace afghan for my DS & DIL for Christmas. First my circular needles broke and a bunch of stitches fell off (thank goodness I managed to save them!) so I had to get another pair.

Well, last night I was finishing it up...and with just 20 stitches left to cast off...I ran out of yarn So, now I have to get another skein to finish it. Too bad I can't buy just a couple yards of yarn!

That is so frustrating.
I hate it when the pattern tells you to buy a amount of yarn
Then get to the end like you did and run out.
I usually always go and buy another ; if the yarn is not that expensive.
Hope you got the afaghan finished .pinkroses

I got the yarn and finished the afghan :) I figure I'll use the rest of the yarn for a scarf or mittens to give as a Christmas gift.

Congrats! Diana,
hahaha! I have to laugh,,,I started an afgahn (crochet) a year & 1/2 ago with the intention of having it ready for Christmas of 2007 for my hubby(started it in the Spring to give myself plenty of time!) but then we moved out of State in July, it got packed away & I found it in the mids of Summer of this year and well it was just to hot to crochet a huge afgahn wrapped all around me....I put it aside then came across it again last month,,,,Good news! I finished it just in time for the cold weather... told hubby dearest it was a late B-day & early Christmas gift from 2007/2008/2009! lol! He just rolled his eyes & then snuggled in his new Man-Sized blanky!

Katmom- It's amazing how those UFO's manage to hide or get buried in the shuffle. There are several of my friends who are now knitting the afghan and I warned them that they'll need 9 instead of 8 skeins of yarn.
