I just finished my homemade Christmas cards for the exchange!!!!

My pen pal, Ann, has totally inspired me. She has already sent me a Thanksgiving and Christmas card that she made herself. So I went to Michael's yesterday and got all the things to make some. It took hours to do but was so fun! I haven't done this in years.

So thank you , Ann, for getting me off my butt and inspiring me to get busy on handmade this year. I think I'll even make some for the family, too!

I really enjoyed doing this, getting the addresses etc, and making the lists.

Enjoy all the cards you will get girls!!

i addressed mine, too, just before thanksgiving....but i'm not going to send them till mid-week. i had to remember to pull the ones that go out of the country so that i can take them to the post office separate for postage. it was fun and i already received one from soapmommy!! when i showed my husband, he just laughed and said you really do have fun with your "secret farmgirls!"---farmgirls, pen pal, and secret pal...and the occasional box of goodies that i purchase from the market place on this site!!--he never knows what's coming!

I finished my cards yesterday and will mail the out of country and the east coast today. The rest later in the week. I did not want them to come too soon but I guess that will just give everyone more time to read them and answer.

I planned to make some cards, but my arthritis insisted it would be better to restrain myself. I am so looking forward to getting Christmas cards, I always hang them off strings stretched across my kitchen. .....

Karen, I have store bought cards too! It took me too much time and brains to do it myself. BUT I bought the cutest I could find, IMO!!
Some have old fashioned Dutch scenes, other have Angels (YES I found a couple with Angels, YAY) and others that I really loved.

So it doesn't matter wether cards are homemade or store bought, it is the thought that counts, right??

I did not mean to sound like I'm doing something more special than anyone else. I sometimes get exited and just write without thinking of the outcome afterwards.

I LOVE storebought cards!! I was going to do that, but like I said, my wonderfully talented, creative pen pal,Ann,(Soapmommy) has so inspired my creativity and I just had to go with it.

I am sorry if I stepped on toes here. I would love to get any kind of card, because it comes from people who have thought about me and cared enough to take time to send me a card, no matter where it came from. So keep the cards coming!!

Kris, I don't think you stepped on anyones toes, at least not on mine and I would have felt it, lol.

I just wanted to say that ALL cards are welcome. Those of you that made the cards yourself, that is great AND appreciated. I didn't want to let the ones who can't or don't have the time to make the cards feel bad about doing so :)

And no worries, the cards WILL come, lol! Stacks of them YAY!

Mine are ready to post today. I bought store bought ones and embellished them with colored glitter. (I have too many irons in the fire and budget allows so much...) I am excited to get everyones. It was fun to do..and it doesn't matter if they were purchased. It's the fact that we exchange I thought.....

I have been working on mine a few at a time as time allows. I still have a ways to go before I'm done. But they will start going out this week. I'm not all that creative when it comes to paper crafts...

I have to finish addressing mine - almost done. Yes,I to have store bought cards - but not everyone will get the same card, I have 3 different ones I am sending. I am hoping some of you farmgirls have a good sense of humor too because one of the cards is kinda funny - not your typical Christmas card.

I have gotten 3 cards so far, so great. I just mailed the first batch and will continue to mail over the next couple of days.

This weekend I'll have to get my garlands up so I can display my cards.

I've gotten 3 cards as of Wednesday! This is so much fun - thanks for organizing this, Dutchy! **hands clapping**

Kristin, I'd bought some cards since I didn't think I'd have time to make any. But after receiving Ann's card and then reading your post, I thought I'd give it a shot. I worked on them for a few hours last night while hubby was out with a friend. They're about half done so I think they'll be done by the end of the week. Yay!!!

God bless -
