In the process of figuring out how to decorate the tree this year I came upon a recipe for cinnamon dough. You can cut out shapes and put holes in them for hanging or just put some interesting shapes in a dish. They smell so yummy.
I will be making some as well. I plan on having a friend and her her kids come over to play. Cocoa and Christmas music to boot. What shapes did you make?

We made mostly trees and stars but any shape would work well. Gonna package some up nicely and sell them at my yoga studio. Thought they might be nice stocking stuffers. My three year old daughter helped out and had a great time so hopefully your will enjoy this with your children too. Have fun
Sure 1 1/2 cups ground cinnamon 1 cup applesauce 1/4 cup white school glue
Mix everything together, should have consistency of cookie dough. Add a bit of water if it is too stiff. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit for 1/2 hour. Roll out between two sheets of wax paper and then cut shapes with cookie cutters or roll into balls. You can make holes in the tops with drinking straws. Let dry on cookie sheets covered in wax paper and flip them throughout the next 2-3 days so they don't curl. You can hang them on trees or off of mason jar crafts, they can also be used as drawer sachets esp. the ball shapes. They look real country and smell yummy. Have fun! PS.. I buy the bulk cinnamon from my local BJ's or Costco to save money.
OOO! I like your recipe better then the one I have. Much simpler and I am all about simple. I ordered my cinnamon from my co-op. Will get it Sunday, so can't wait till we can get creative.
