I am going to be making homemade laundry soap for my girl friends who don't make their own. I thought I would put it in a pretty jar with a measuring scoop tied on and the recipe so they can make it themselves. I thought with things getting tight its a great way to save some money and help the earth!

That's a great idea, Angie, especially including the scoop and recipe. You go, farmgirl!

Sounds like a creative and great idea to me, Angie! My mom makes her own. I barely have time to do laundry let alone making the laundry soap. It is sweet of you to do for them :)

I love doing that for little gifts. I have also put it first in a ziploc bag and then made a simple cloth bag with a drawstring top to give it in. Have fun!!

Angie, I was thinking of doing the same thing for a couple of my friends! I was going to make it all next weekend, since my soaps have had a month to dry out, and I will have to restock soon on my own.
Great minds think alike!!

Hi Kelly!! First of all kiss that sweet Abby for me(from Lisa at miss wilma's) I use Aunt Jenny's recipe 2 cups of borax 2 cups of washing soda(Arm & Hammer in a bright yellow box, I find it at Kroger's here) 2 cups of baking soda 2 cups of Oxyclean(I use the generic from the dollar store, much cheaper) & 1 bar of grated soap(I use Kirk's Castile, some use Fels Naptha, Zote, or even homemade) Mix all together & add seom essential oils for scent if you want. I use lavendar, rosemary, peppermint & tea tree. I use a coffee scoop full for each load, probably about 2 Tblspns. I figure one batch is about 2-3 bucks & lasts about 2-3 months here & I usually do a load a day. I've been using for about 1 1/2 yrs & love it
