I recently purchased an oak entertainment center...just the basic wall unit that has a glass-paned door on the left and cupboards on the bottom, and space for a tv on the right.
However, I have yet to get a tv to put in it, and so I'm brainstorming ideas for what I could put in that space to make it looks less bare. Basically something to make the living room look a little more 'put together' before company comes next week. :)
I've thought of baskets, books, flowers.... but I'm not sold on anything. Do you have any ideas? Thinking caps!! ![](icons/icon_smile_wink.gif)

My mom had the same issue and she put her stereo system in the space for the tv. If you still had a lot of space you could put a basket with dried flowers on top of the stereo....or some framed photo's. I didn't like the tv stand we had so I turned it into a nice microwave stand with space for my mixer, bakeware, breadmaker and other kitchen do dads! Good luck! |

How about a fall decoration of fruit & flowers. or a large plant. Family photos always look good. & maybe a couple decorating books with the fall Thanksgiving decoration. Open a Bible and maybe candles * you don't have to burn them) in the space or Any collections you have?

What is you were to put or make a shelf unit in the space that could be removed. You then could put more pictures, books or turn it into a shadow box and put antiques and things that are you in it to show off. I'm sure it's a project within itself. But it might be fun for the handy person. Or maybe if you have something vintage you could display there if you don't have it displayed somewhere else. ![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif) Have fun and let up know what you did with it.

Do you have a collection you could display...dolls, plates, mementos etc? Try finding something to use to display things at different levels to use up more of the space. Piles of books at different heights work well for that plus you display the books also. Let us know what you come up with. |
