I found this site that is full of info on farms and everything in between. You can also order materials to help you plan your farm business. Just wish I had neat classes here like they offer in NY!

Hope this helps someone plan their farm dreams! Tammy

Tammy, have you checked with WKU to see if they offer anything like that? Or maybe call your local county extension office they have lots of information or can get it usually. Before I moved out here and the kids started doing 4-H I never thought of the extension office, but they really are a good source of information, no matter where you live.

BTY I lived in Bowling Green for 8 years and finished my schooling there then we moved away. My parents moved to Park City(about 4 yrs ago) and have a small farm there now.

Another idea, if you aren't the bashful type, is look for farm auctions in your area and walk up to some old farmer(you'll be able to spot them easily) and just start talking. Farmers love to talk and if they can help you they will. It's their nature.

Good luck to you, hope this helps you.

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalms 34:1

I grew up in BG, but moved to a smaller town about 8 years ago. I love it in Scottsville, it's alot less hectic! My kids are in 4-H and I'm a Master Gardener so I have a pretty good relationship with our extension agent and the ext. office. And you're right they are a great resource. I haven't ever thought about Western though, but that's a good idea. I'll look into that. Thanks! If you're ever in to see your parents let me know and we'll get together.

Best farm wishes
