I made a batch of ugly lavender soap. I tried to color it a beautiful violet color and it came out kind of a pale gray! But the soap is still lovely to use and it smells wonderful - made with lavender essential oil. I'm selling these bars for $1 each plus shipping. They will come unwrapped and I can get 6 bars in a flat rate envelope for $4.80 shipping. There are 16 bars available. Please email me if you're interested in some lovely lavender soap with an interesting (??) color!
Oh No Kay! That is so hard! I have had soaps do that to me before- especially the purple colors. I think it has something to do with the heat and the lye. Sometimes when the soap gets wet and starts to get used, the color perks up a bit. *hugs*
I usually leave my lavender soap natural but this time I decided to try to add color. Won't make that mistake again. Laura - I responded to your email.
Kay- There are some colorants that don't react that way. Can you email me privately and tell me which colorant you are working with? I love chatting soap! :D
Kay, I got the soap today (my mailbox smelled wonderful!). I don't think it's ugly at all and I can't wait to use it. Keep me in mind for future ugly ones! Glad I got in on this batch! Thanks.
Laura and Ginny - I'm so glad the soap arrived safely! The only thing I thought was ugly was the color! Everything else was ok. I'm so glad that you like it.
Cristine - what a great tag line! I'm going to have to give this Ugly Soap thing some thought. You've inspired me!
