Plowing is done, disking is done, and gardens, and flower beds cleaned up. Going to get some wood cut today. Got caught up with the outside work before the rain and snow.
Now it is time to get the inside work going. Started by washing down the dineing room. Now need to get back at it and finish the rest of the house. Then in the mean time bake, wash clothes, and get those Christmas presents going!

I don't think time for that nap will come!

Hope you all get your fall work done!
MIchele

Michele- Doesn't it feel like the seasons keep us running? I am really looking forward to the little break from after the Holidays till the first glimmers of spring. That is usually when I get to do a bit more crafts and such without the pressure of the holidays. However, the new college semester will start right then, so I might be out of luck this year!

But doesn't feel great to get the ground put to rest after a busy growing season?

Michele,
Hi! I am next door to you in MN. We just moved out to the country almost one year ago and are just getting started from square one. We built a garage last year and now are living in it and with economy as such will be for a while so ....just got done building a garage HA! Now bringing in the last of the wood for winter and then as you said can maybe rest a little. Spring brings building of chicken coop and then chickens, bigger garden and hopefully will start to build up a beef herd.
I think we will work harder in our retirement but so much different when it is for ourselves and in the country, farming.
Never knew I could be so happy living in a garage!!!
Rae

I love living in the country!!

Wow Michele, you've been a busy farmgirl! Congratulations on beating the weather & getting your outside work done before the rain & snow! I guess you don't get to hibernate though. Good luck finishing wall washing (my neck hurts thinking about it) the washing, baking and making Christmas gifts!

Wow someone from Wisconsin! I was born and grew up in Wisconsin. I still have dreams at night about the house I grew up in. I lived in a very tiny town called Tony, near Ladysmith. My favorite uncle lived in Bruce.
You sure have been busy, getting ready for winter!

Holy Cow Barb, your from Tony! What a small world. Last football game of the season was at Flambeau. They built a new school, a few years ago, south of town a couple miles. the old one just came down recently. I wonder if I know your uncle?

Sorry cheryl, I am not retired, but wish I was. I was a stay at home mom, mostly, until about a year ago, and now I work part time. Helping to pay for a nice green tractor and baler.

Rae, enjoy living in Mn. My second son is going to school in Bemidji. This is his first year.

Alee, I love getting caught up on my work. Now If I could get my man to do the same thing, I would be all set!

Dawn, i know you stay super busy at home there. Hope you got all your beds cleaned up for winter now too.

Enjoy late fall and early winter everyone.

Finally Michele, a former northwestern WI farmgirl to chat with! Since Bruce is a small town, I'll bet you'll know Barb's uncle.

Good luck with finishing up your inside work! I'm sure you'll have your place looking perfect for the holidays!

I love this time of year. I really love the cooler weather and the fire in the fireplace and putting soup in the pot and baking bread, making christmas gifts.............it is all my favorite.

Me too Rene' It is so pretty from the turning of the leave colors, to last harvest of veggies, and canning, freezing those yummies. I love seeing Frost on the fence posts, the chill in the fresh morning air. and then come Holiday feasts, decorating and Well, what more can I say..... other than I am blessed to live here...
