OMG! I just finished this book and it was so good! The author is Curtiss Ann Matlock and it's my first read of her works. It's about a 12 going on 13 year old who is living with her Aunt and developementally disabled cousin since her alchoholic mother sent her away 3 years ago. It takes place in a small OK town between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
As a Christian I try to avoid books that are too focused on sex or violence and this book fit the bill! I never once had to skip over questionable parts. It is well written and has a positive message. I'm even thinking of buying a copy (mine came fromt the library) and giving it to my niece for Christmas.
Have any of you read any of Curtiss Ann Matlock works?
