Boy did I fet lost.. I was doing some (fun) shopping this afternoon. Getting a little jump on Christmas & Birthday's in my family one after Turkey day & one before Christmas( hubby's) and daughter #2 January 5. Well I went in & out stores , in out of traffic & finally at the grocery store I could not find my car! Yeah and I was glowing...having a "menopausal Power surge" and my grocery cart wheels didn't work well and I had ice cream melting ( treat for tonight) and told Hubby I would behome to help him unload the back of the truck,, Top that off I wanted to get home far enough before dinnner, put my feet up have a glass wine & start reading My MJ magazine, Well Yeah, I could have sworn I came out the same door I went in... Duh! I looked down 4 rows of cars and figured I had lost it.. My mind...besides the truck.. Well sure enough There it was..on the 2nd row at the side entrance.! Can I relax now?

And don'tcha feel like everyone knows you've lost your car? And they're watching to see if you find it. I've actually done that , watched to see if they find it. (Really to see if they need help, to offer assistance if needed!)
What a day.

I use to do that all the time until my mom suggested that I always park in the same place. Now, when I loose my truck I only have two rows to wander through.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that does that! I can't blame it on menopause though. I've done it all my life. My friends used to think it was hilarious when we'd go to the drive-in, they'd send me for refreshments, and then move the car!

Kristin, I actually had people help me find my truck once because I was sure it was stolen (I had a bad habit of leaving the keys in the ingnition). They actually looked as panicked as I felt. Turned out I had come out a different door than I had gone in and the truck was on the other side of the parking lot. Hey, it was a HUGE parking lot!
Wow, Kay. How mean! ;)

I tell myself that I lose my car because I go to the store so often, all the trips become a blur......that is my excuse for being slightly "lost" in the world. :) Glad others do it too!

If I have to drive around to find a parking spot I'll usually forget where I ended up finally parking.

The advantage (if you can call it that) of living in a small town, it's actually hard to lose your car. Especially at the grocery store. Ole Ron has a "cripple people" tag on our car so we get to park up front. And we have the only Honda CR-V in town. Our Walmart is easy in and out also. When we go to the Walmart Supercenter or Mall (50 miles away) it is another story. We can never find a parking place up front. I usually let Ron out then head to the back 40. At the mall, we always try to go in the same door. The back door at Dillards is usually the best place. Then all we have to remember is to go out through the baby dept. |
