Man, It has really gotten cold here in K Falls..Hubby & I just went to town to buy lumber ( he's getting ready to build our chicken coop & house. If the darn weather holds) brrrrrrr We are feeling it already. Rainning now cold, 38 degrees & maybe snow expected tonight & possibly tomorrow at our 4200ft elevation. I convinced Dh to also purchase some winter underwear.. We both got those Silkies. 100% silk and I couldn't wait to get them home & on this old lady.

Oh, Cheryl, aren't they just wonderful? I have a pair that I wear hunting and I just love them. They work better at keeping me warm than traditional thermals and they're not bulky, either.

Oh my gosh I didnt know they had silkies. I will have to try to find some. I have never liked the cotton ones too restictive. Great info.

They are called "Silkskins" actually.. and they can be washed in the washing machine on gentle cycle in lukewarm water. Do not use chlorine bleach and you can hang them to dry or tumble dry on low heat . I love them

These Silkskins are so warm and breathable, which I like. They retain their shape and move with you, not bunching up & bulky. I found mine at Big 5 Sporting store.

Thanks for the washing information and correct name. I have a pair of thermal underwear that make me feel fat. I will look for the Silkskins here. We don't have a Big 5 Sporting store, but perhaps the Sports Authority will carry them.

They really are nice. I wear them to work as I'm always cold. I have found them with other names in alot of different types of stores. I think I got my last ones at Eddie Bauer.

Cuddle Duds are great too! You hardly know that you have them on. My only problem with these undies is that I have a hard time finding them long enough. I'm 5'10', and most of them are too short--I just wear taller socks to come up over the top of them!!!!
