Ok ladies, we've committed to using our materials in new and exciting ways... We've sworn off all our favorite vices except chocolate... It's time for the rubber to meet the road!

This will be a Trick or Treat Halloween Challenge. Make a small item of your choice, using only materials you have on hand - and this time no purchasing to fill in any gaps! If you don't have enough, you'll have to find something else (sorry, ask my kids - I'm really mean). You know, make it do or do without...

Anyway, what you make is up to you. It doesn't have to be anything big. It just has to be done by Thursday night so you can post your photos on Halloween. Put your pumpkin shaped thinking caps on, get out your favorite black and orange striped socks (you know you have some), put on Monster Mash, and have some Halloween fun! When you're done, and after you post your photo, treat someone special to your little creation.

I can't wait to see your photos! Happy Halloween Crafting!

Sorry, a P.S. here:

When you post your photo, please include a list of the items used. That will help the rest of us use up our stashes in new and exciting ways, too.

O.k Ann, you asked for it! hahaha Hubby and I just finished making something last night and it sure qualifies! Here it is! I hope you all enjoy!!!

Ok, so the materials used for my spider were:

old black satin fabric
a styrofoam ball left over from last year
a construction light cage
wire for the legs
black zip ties to hold fabric on the legs.

This spider took a few hours to make out in the garage. Wrapping the fabric around the legs was the most time consuming! It's hanging up in my dining room tonight waiting for our Halloween party guests this weekend!

MJ's only takes photobucket photos. It is really easy to do - after uploading to photobucket, simply copy the IMG line (the stuff inside the white box) and paste it in your post here.

THAT SPIDER ROCKS!!! Way to go! Can't wait to see the rest of them!

I made this last night for a local lady I'm bartering with for some big paper for home school - it's a jar of bath salts.

Supplies:
1/2 pt. round (ie pumpkin shaped)canning jar, lid and ring
sea salt
kosher salt
baking powder
Ginger Orange fragrance oil (smells like those candy orange slices)
orange colorant
white ribbon
cardstock tag
letter stickers (came yesterday in the mail from a barter - thanks, Bonnie!)
orange, brown, and yellow cardstock (to make "tube" to go around the jar)
glue dots and "pop dots"

Ok, this is becoming like potato chips - I can't stop at just one LOL!

This little ghosty guy is a gift for a friend. Here is what he's made of:
Canning jar, lid and ring
Hot White Cocoa Mix
Scrap of white fabric
Black buttons for eyes
Glue dots to hold on his buttons
white ribbon
Paper tag and cardstock tag (stability)

Hot White Cocoa Mix Recipe:
Roughly equal parts
Nonfat dry milk powder
Plain nondairy creamer (powder)
French vanilla powdered creamer
Powdered sugar

Mix well to combine. Store in airtight container. Add @1/4-1/3 cup (to taste) of mix to cup of hot water.

Enjoy!

Such creativity! You ladies are great. I love MJF, as I get so much inspiration. Thank you. Let's see what I can find in my piles and piles of stash stuff..."the vault" as I prefer to call it.
Jami, ATC stands for Artist Trading Cards. I just learned that recently. Here is a link that describes the size specifics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ACEO

Paper ephemera is all those fancy doo dads that are made of paper - like pieces from old greeting cards, etc.

Can't wait to see more photos!

Forgot to mention before that if you participate I will send you a ribbon for all your hard work!

Maybe you need a little inspirations???? Check out this link:
http://www.bhg.com/holidays/halloween

The part that I thought most applied to our little challenge was the "interior decorating" part, but hey if you still need a costume, they have lots of ideas for that, too.

Just remember, we need your photo posted on Friday...

Does this count for something Halloween? I made this purse about a week ago before I knew anything about the challenge. It's not the best. My first try and without any kind of pattern. I thought I'd post it here since it met the "use only what I have on hand rule" and it's done in the wonderful autumn colors.

I used scrap fabric, thread and a scrap piece of quilt binding.

I told you this was like eating potato chips!

The bag is a brown paper gift bag, orange and black felt, and craft glue. He is also tied together with a large green ribbon (to give him a stem). The jar of cookies (made with ingredients from our garden) is just covered with cardstock. The letters are stamped on cardstock squares and attached with pop dots. The idea for the jar came from the link I posted from BH&G.

Have a great day ladies!

Here are my trick or treaters out in the yard

They were made by using metal for the body that my hubby welded together, old sweats and jeans from my son, some left over white fabric, some ribbon for the girl, and some old hospital socks. Oh the heads are old basketballs...lol

We've had some terrible winds here lately,so pics aren't the best.
