Mmm. At our chapter meeting today, Graciegreeneyes/Amy and I discovered a new treat. We were making cookies. Started out innocent enough, sugar cookies, Halloween cut outs... But you know farmgirls. Here came all this creativity. Wonderful time!
We added canned pumpkin to the sugar cookie dough. But they were lacking. So we whipped up a glaze of powdered sugar, pumpkin puree, a pinch each of ground ginger, allspice, and cinnamon. Oooh was that good with a cup of tea!
We also took said sugar cookie dough, tossed in chopped frozen cranberries, dried apple slices, and walnuts. Mixed, pressed into bar cookies. Also delightful, but a bit crumbly. Next time I ought to toss in a spoonful of pumpkin puree to help it hold together.
