How can you do that? Even one thimble makes me feel totally clumsy. I use one only when I begin to have bleeding and sore fingertips.

It makes it so I can quilt easily in any direction at any time. i have never seen any one quilt the way i do. It came about the month I had to quilt 7 quilts by hand in one month for my now deceased grandmother in law ( this was about 11 years ago done it this way ever since). As fingers got sore I added a thimble to protect it after a while I was faster quilting with more than less as I never get poked and i as stated earlier can quilt in any direction instantly.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe

I just use one..and like Jeannie said..clumsy me..I hate it..but I get a hole in my thumb when I don't. I just wear it on my thumb for the pushing the needle part..those little needles are sharp going in backwards too!!!! My grandma used to always use 2 or 3 and her fingers sure looked nicer than mine after I have being quilting!!

i never liked thimbles until i found the silicone ones at the quilt store. they kind of mold around your finger so that it's not so culmsy and they come in fun colors.

I admire all of you who are able to use a thimble. I've never been able to use one without feeling clumsy and awkward!

I push my needle through with my middle finger. I finally found one thimble, old and ugly yellow plastic, that I can tolerate.

7 quilts in one month!!! I would need an iron glove to do that! Wow, Sunshine!

I have discovered the tighter the thimble the more control I have the loose thimbles drive me insane. You can tell in the photo my thimbles are real tight

Yes, that is why I like the yellow ugly plastic one! It is very tight and stays on.
