MaryJane, Rebekka Mae, Rene Groom (prosser farmgirl) and Katy King traveled from MaryJanesFarm to Iowa last week to teach classes and lecture at the American Quilt Society shindig. 25,000 women from across the country attended!!! MaryJane provided a stunning display of aprons from her lifetime collection that totals some 400 aprons. (Her display also included the apron she and her mother made when she was 14 years old.) The MJF team also toured the kitchens and gardens of Country Home magazine based in Des Moines. Apron fever is everywhere!

I have been to needlework shows in Iowa (Des Moines), many times and how I would have loved to have been with you all last week! It must have been so much fun. That area has always supported needlework crafts and handmade goods, and it seems like the trend now is aprons! Love the photos!

How did you like the walkways downtown that take you from one building to another wihtout ever going outside? We loved that as we could cart our booth books and boxes from the hotel to the exhibit hall much easier.....and there were even places to eat along the way.

My cheeks really do hurt from all the laughing we did! I so needed a week of women. What fun we had parading around in our aprons, sisterhood badges and boots- you should have seen some of the looks and giggles we got but I bet lots of those ladies went home and dug out their mama's aprons. Men just didn't know what to do, but I saw them smiling to each other!
Wish you had all been there,
Rebekka

We had so much fun, so much so that I cannot wait for the farm fair (BBB - Buggy, Barter & Boogie)........what a BLAST we will have have. We had the best "sister" discussions and spent time being creative, and I cannot wait to experience that with everyone!
