I can't find the old thread about stinky front-loading machines BUT I have found something that seems to help. I took a small electric fan and set it in the washer when I was done with the day's laundry - with the soap dispenser open - and let it blow (facing into the machine) pretty hard while the clothes dried. It seemed to really dry it out and is a lot less mildewy smelling. Sue in Richland WA
Also, if you haven't already, wipe all around the inside inner lip of the rubber seal. A lot of trash and gunk settles in here. It's pretty gross.
I tend to wash a lot of kleenex accidentally, so this pocket gets cleaned regularly. The kleenex settle in the inner lip where you can't see. Same for all the dirt.

You may also want to do a few loads using baking soda and a little peroxide. I do this just to further deoderize the clothing
And this inner lip is best cleaned after a load has gne through. That way the trapped dirt is still wet and wipes out a little easier.
I use a Clorox wipe rather than a paper towel just because its more durable. Or if you need to run more loads, you can wipe it out w/ a rag then wash it too
Once a month, I run an empty load - I use the warm water cycle and add a cup of vinegar. It cleans the tub out really good and leaves it smelling fresh.
