**Today, Monday the 13th is the last day to sign up! You have until 4pm central time today to e-mail me with your info!!*
ADDED NOTE: If you are interested in having a secret pal from Canada or overseas can you please e-mail me? When I wrote all this down I forgot that there are farmgirls from all over and a few from outside the US signed up. I know that with some people postage will be an issue, so please let me know if you don't mind sending to someone from outside the US.
Okay, this should be fun! I have decided to have it run for four months since the group I was in ran for six months and that seemed a little long, some people forgot all about their secret pal. So this will start October 14th and end February 14th...you can reveal who you are to your secret pal on Valentine's Day! You must keep in contact with your secret pal at the very least once a month with a card or small package. Weekly e-mails (from a secret e-mail address) or weekly cards are encouraged. Try to be sneaky about this and NEVER reveal who you are until Valentine's Day. Once during these four months you should send a present to your secret pal. It doesn't have to be expensive or fancy, just something to let them know you care. Basically, you can send or do whatever you want but the bare minimum is a card once a month and package once during the four months. If you do not hear from your secret pal once a month please contact your group leader (either myself or Heather) and we will contact your secret pal to see what is up. You will be assigned your secret pal by a random draw and you will then be known as "Secret Pal #1, #2, #3 and so on).
Please do not sign up unless you are willing to keep to the rules. We do not want someone to end up with a bum secret pal. SIGN UP LASTS UNTIL MONDAY, OCTOBER 13th. You will receive by e-mail your secret pal's name and address on Tuesday, October 14th. E-mail me your name, address, some interests, birthday, and anniversary dates before Monday if you are interested in signing up. Thanks!!

Has anyone here ever thought of signing up for a secret pal? I used to be part of one in my refunding group where we had secret pals for 6 months and were required to send a card or note once a month (at the least), and one present in the six months. It was fun and I was wondering if that has ever happened here with the farm girls. If not, I would love to start something like that here.

I'll sit down and try to write out the rules today and get it posted later on. THe only thing I can't figure out is how I will get a secret pal myself since I will know who everyone is matched with! Hmmm....

I may be able to help you with preventing yourself from knowing who your secret partner is.
If you want, you can split the list in half and send me half the names (make sure your half includes me and my half includes you). We can then each privately email each person on our lists to let them know who they need to write to.

This is so much fun! I just received a package of books and a sweet card today from my secret pal and they are just the kind I love! She knew I loved to read. I received a lovely card earlier in the month too. Thanks so much secret pal, you really made my day!
