My husband has been hinting (begging?) that he needs a wall tent of his own for hunting season, and I have just sort of ignored him, until today. I told him about Mary Jane's new Outpost book, and that it was in Costco right now, and that Mary Jane had lots to say about camping, hunting, and wall tents even. He told me to go right out and get it...today!
It's his dream to get me to go hunting, but he really 'roughs it' more than I care to.
So now I am flipping thru the book and have decided WE need a wall tent! *U* In fact, maybe we should leave the ranch behind and live in one. ha ha.

I haven't enjoyed camping for ages...which is weird, because I grew up where Mary Jane did, in Ogden, Utah, and my mother, even though she was single and raising two daughters on her own, always took us camping and fishing. We really did rough it too, because we couldn't afford a tent. I remember finding natural ot springs to sit in, frying fish we caught, and sometimes fish we caught by hand! We would bake it wrapped in leaves and then mud, and bake it in the fire coals when we were high up in the mountains.

So, thanks to Mary Jane, I am feeling my "inner wild" come out again, and at the least I will try to ride my horse around the glorious apple orchards once a week. More likely, but next year I'll be set up with a wall tent, camping with our horses and dogs. The kids would be thrilled! Our adopted African girl would think we were nuts! SHe is just getting used to water, indoor toilets, and electricity...why leave it all behind on purpose?! Then again, maybe she will be glad to show us a thing or two about cookin outside over a fire and washing clothes by hand...
