We had a blast making aprons (or disasters, in my case!), gabbing and eating. We stayed together until nearly midnight and laughed up a storm! We are planning to get together each month for a "sewfest" or maybe we should more properly call it a "eat and gab until we collapse fest . . ." Here is the link to my blog with pics of the evening! http://pastblessings.blogspot.com/

Hugs & blessings,

What Fun! Loved the pics. And what a bunch of sewing machines. I sew with a 60 year old Singer Featherweight. Does anyone else use that one?

Belle - I have a 1949 Singer that was my mom's, not a featherweight though. I love it!!

Dawn and Bridget,
I encourage you to just have a sewing party at your home . . . invite friends and whoever might enjoy it . . . you might be happy to see who shows up and to find out who is a farmgirl afterall!

We will be doing future "Sewfests" but have decided not to limit them to aprons, since we all have so many projects going.

Belle, I do have a Singer featherweight that I adore, but something is not working right at the moment, so I had to use my White sewing machine . . . it is nice (bought it second hand from my girlfriend) but I miss my featherweight. I am still wanting a treadle one of these days. Ever since hearing MaryJane go on and on about the peaceful purr of a treadle I have wanted one. Plus, if the E-bomb hits I am still in business! LOL!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda
