At this time of year, you knew someone was bound to ask this question.... Any great pumpkin pie recipes out there (of course there are!!)

My husband absolutely loves pumpkin pie, always has. In fact when he was a kid, his mom asked him one year what type of cake he wanted for his birthday party. His answer...pumpkin pie! No joke. Anyway, I've tried several recipes over the years but just haven't found one that I've said, "this is it!" and not wanted to try others. Well, girls, if I find the right recipe, I think I'm ready to commit (sounds a bit like dating?!?!)

Feel like sharing your favorite pumpkin pie recipes?.....

Thanks in advance,
Susan

I just had this today. Take a box of brownie mix, add 2 cups of canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) and bake 30-40 minutes at 350. When it cools, put it in the fridge for 2 hours. You can put some peanut butter on top (before you bake it) and swirl it through the batter. It ends up like fudge! My friend's recipe said Betty Crocker brownie mix, but I don't think it matters. So semi-healthy fudge!

I like the recipe on the Libby Pumpkin can...the plain pumpkin can not the pre-made pie filling.
I love cold pumpkin pie with fresh cream!

ok ladies, please don't laugh at me... i just tried this recipe over the weekend and i swear, it's the best recipe i've ever tried! but guess where it came from.... i buy Philosophy body wash every once and awhile as a treat (it's very expensive) and my hubby got me one last year for christmas that smells like pumpkin pie. they have recipes on the bottle for what they smell like (i have a hot chocolate one, too) so, yes, i got my best pumpkin pie recipe off a body wash bottle!

use pie shell of your choice (my fave is betty crocker using lard)

15 oz. pumpkin puree (i use about 3 C. fresh pumpkin... i can't go back to canned pumpkin after using fresh!)
1 T. sugar
1 C. brown sugar
1/2 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. ginger (i prefer to use pumpkin pie spice or add nutmeg and cloves to the cinnamon and ginger)
2 t. molasses
3 eggs, beaten
1 C. evaporated milk

mix all ingredients together and pour into the pie shell. bake 40 min at 425 degrees or until set to desired consistency.

if anyone tries this recipe, let me know what you think!

I love it! I have started compiling recipes onto a single page as we put them out and Prairie Princess yours goes to the top. What a way to find a recipe. I will have to try this one.
