I started reading Kiwi, while I was pregnant with Lela 2 1/2 years ago, ironically enough my obgyn (high risk clinic) had the premiere edition in the office my first visit! And I've been reading it ever since. I love it.
It's a all natural, organic, cloth diapering, etc etc. magazine. I would say it's aimed at mom's from pregnancy to 18 year old children.
This months had a bunch of good things, I am soooo doing to try! (all issues have since the very first one I read-ok actually on my third visit and the Kiwi was still there, I took it home! lol haha). Any way....they had a bunch of alternatives to PB for children who either can't have PB, or go to schools where it is banned. We plan on homeschooling my daughter, but at the same time, you can't avoid outings with other children during meal times. And while we can have PB, I do worry about those who can't. And to be quite honest with you, PB is a huge staple in my home.
I have bought cashew butter, almond butter, and such many times and love them. (especially cashew), oh and Macadamian, that's my favorite! Any way....I didn't think about that, but children I guess who are allergic to pb may not be to the above. And I've been seeing sunflower butter at the store and almost bought it. I think I will next time. Cause they had a roll up that looked too good to pass up with the sunflower butter-shredded carrots, lettuce, raisins, turkey on a whole wheat tortilla! YUM!!!
Any way, now I know what I will take for our lunches when we will be in public around other children who may have these allergies. I think it will be the sunflower butter if we like it. Cause that is probably least likely that others will have allergies too-at least fatal allergies that is.
Also they had the cutest bird feeder that I will HAVE to make. It's out of a scooped out pumpkin, lined with cloves, strung up on a tree, and filled with suet, and bird seed etc. Soooooo cute!
Any one read it?
