Where I am you have two options, get gas for around 3.69 with a ten gallon maximum, or get gas for 3.99-4.23 for unlimited Gas.
I went ahead and gassed up, paying 100$ for 25 gallons. I may come to regret that, buying the higher gas, but it was a gamble I was willing to take.
I'll do my darndest to make that gas last until the 15th of October!

As of today, some stations were out of gas but the lowest we saw today had jumped to 4.59!

This is sad. Jeremy and I went to Evasnville tonight. Out of the 4 stations we passed down there, 3 of them had regular gas for 3.99 the 4th was selling regular for 4.29! And to make it worse the over rated, outrageous station was only about two city blocks from one of the other station carrying gas for 3.99.
In Boonville where I live gas took another jump today. 3.99

Hi Paige.... I feel your pain! Like I said, 12 gals. = $60. Outrageous! I have cut out any unnecessary trips anywhere. My new goal...put in a windmill for power, goats for milk, grow my own stuff, wood stove for heat, and anything else I can think of to get rid of the control of today's economy.

Thank God I live in the country!

You guys need to realize it's not just that oil companies are taking advantage of a situation; how do you think your gas gets to you? We're needing to ship it from the northwest to the south, and that costs money, which is why we're all paying more at the pump.

We just got back from vacation, we left last Thur 9/4. When we left gas was 3.49 here in PA, went up to around 3.59 in the midwest (we drove to NE). When we left NE on Thur 9/11 we were shocked to see gas prices had risen to 3.99 aross the midwest. It was lower in Ohio, and when we got home we checked and it had actually come down here to 3.45 in that time. Needless to say we filled all vehicles in case it went up here over night. We assumed it had jumped in the midwest due to Ike, but we are really surprised it hasn't risen here, they usually take any chance they can to jump the prices....

well, I went to church today anyway,,,,I knew I should use our gas for that ahead of other things. All along the road EVERY station was closed at the pumps. That was about 15 stations. And everyone is just riding around like there's no tomorrow! My neighbor asked me to go with her to Lowe's today, and we went in her car. The roads were full of cars zooming along! Folks do not remember what it is like to go without anymore. They are sure in a few days this will all be over. We will see. I hope they are right! Otherwise it is going to get ugly real fast.

That is amazing! I can remember pumps being out of gas for maybe 24 hours. I really must say that it would be startling to see them be out for more than a day. However, if that did happen up here I would be all for finding alternative transportation or staying home!

I hope the situation gets better!

Gosh, where do we start with the gas prices! Its hitting me hard too! ugh! I recently aquired a VW bug, so I was going to drive it today, but I couldnt get the darn thing to start!! Just my luck too, as I had all of my stuff for yoga, and work...I am trying to hurry, dressed in my gym outfit, and my bare feet. So, I try and try, it almost sounded like it was about to start, but I couldnt get it to catch! ugh! I might try it again tonight...any suggestions?

Jena, I drove a VW for years. If that baby doesn't want to start, it won't Talk nice to it, whack the battery a few times, open the engine door and wiggle a few wires, encourage it, kick the tires, too, that helps sometimes. Good luck!!!! I LOVE VW's. I would have anothwer one, but I think my husband might leave me.

Hi Kris!

Thanks for the pointers! I actually just went out and tried it again. It has gas, all the wires seem to be connected. I tried talking to her.."Come on baby...come on, come on!..lol. It sounded a little better...I think. I didnt kick the tires though, as that would damage the pedi:). I had the gas pedal to the floor, and I probably still have the lines form the pedal on the bottom of my foot, I was pressing so hard!..lol. Anyway, I might try again in the morning...anything else I should try? (no hubby here...currently separated)

I feel bad for the folks in Nashville, TN...there were a lot of stations that ran out of gas, including premium! At least 85% of stations were out of gas....amazing!
