I was inspired by the Story Tree in Mary Janes outpost book and the boys and I "built" this today.
What a cozy place to go and read.
The make do book shelf, using a log holder and a few planks of wood

The kids sat outside for awhile after I left, reading their books.

Man, despite his artistic pretensions, his sophistication, and his many accomplishments, owes his existence to a six inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.

fionalovesshrek, your reading tent is wonderful. So inviting, love your log holder table and candle too.

You and your darling sons (so cute) did a great job. I know it was super heart felt to see them reading in their newly built outdoor reading room. They gotta be so proud

I too was inspired by MJ's reading tree. Plans to cleanup our kids old tree fort and make a reading tree for the grandkids. The branches are big and low to the ground so not much climbing. Now seeing what you and your sons did gets me even more excited, if it wasn't raining so, I'd be out there now.

Hang on to your vintage chair. I was just looking at some yesterday, they are holding on to four for me to use in my outpost. They are getting harder to find.

Thanks for sharing and great pictures,

Have fun reading

what a wonderful thing to do, books and kids are always a good idea, but having a special place to read is just magic.
