OK...I know about using netting torn in strips along with cotton yarn to make scrubbies, but I'm looking for the "yarn" to do it? A while ago (a long while) I was given 3 round, poufy, scrubbies, that were hand crocheted. They weren't the netting but some kind of rough scratchy yarn stuff... (How's that for a description???)

Anyone got any idea where I can get some?

taslin is a rough yarn that can be used for scrubbies. This is who i get taslin from --CHEAP http://cgi.ebay.com/BROWN-WHITE-TASLIN-YARN_W0QQitemZ250035822536QQihZ015QQcategoryZ48765QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713.m153.l1262 When buying cvone yarn the smaller the # for the YYP -the thicker it is. I have used her taslin for rugs and scrubbies .

Ditto, what Cime showed you.

Also, my sister sent me a ball of yarn made from nettles that is used for
shower scrubbies. I imagine jute could be used for kitchen scrubbies.

Thanks for the website....so what is "taslin" exactly?? I also looked around the net a bit and found that some people are using plastic canvas yarn. I really like the idea of recycling netting bags though. Here is a site for recycling bags. http://www.myrecycledbags.com/2007/02/17/instructions-for-cutting-plastic-bags-creating-recycled-plastic-yarn/ I love it that she calls this stuff "plarn"

not sure what makes up taslin. It is a very tough yarn --you cant break it and is really rough.
