Glory, Are you taking reservations? I am ready to come for a visit! What a wonderful place to live. Middle Tennessee? I just might be your closest neighbor...I live in the very northwest corner of the state. Please post more photos. Linda |

Here's some more photos...the first is the creek out back, and we named our farm Sweet Life...so I included a shot of our little sign, a shot of the dam and waterfall out back of the house...I took it in April after a big downpour, so the water was roaring!, and a creek shot barn side early one morning...I went outside and saw the fog, and ran back inside for my camera...it was so pretty!

Glory, I am so glad you stayed because otherwise we would not have been blessed by your lovely photos!!! I am originally from Ohio and I miss the trees changing color in the fall. Your pictures make me very homesick, but they also remind me of all the good time I had there too! I grew up on 5 acres in the country with a big garden and at times I get so homesick for grass, which we have very little of in the desert, I could almost cry! Thank you for sharing your pictures!!!!

Thanks! You're a sweetie to say so~ I'm so glad I climbed out of that miff tree!
I love the seasons, too...and here lately, the nights have been so cool and fall-y feeling. Crisp. Just chilly enough to wear my favorite old beat up blue jean jacket with the fake shearling! We're planning on having a little barn get-together with a few friends and some family, showing an old movie with NO bad language...remember those? I do, barely! A weinee roast, sitting on hay bales and tugging up the blankets...my kittens climbing on everybody, Jack, the Belgian, watching from a distance, and a sweet smelling fire making our clothes and hair all smoky!! I love that! Everybody looking so pretty with their faces all flushed from the heat of the fire...men and women alike! I LOVE being outside... My Dad's birthday is coming soon~so, a time for celebration!

Your farm looks like something out of Country Living! It looks staged it is so beautiful. BTW I was guessing KY as well. It is funny how you can ID a region by the barns. Beautiful.

Thanks for all the kind words! I try to make it welcoming and a place I always want to come home to. It's where I want to be ALL the time! Beverley with an e...Come pitch a tent anytime! I'm going to tromp down to the back pasture in my muck boots tomorrow (my husband got them for me at my request for my birthday and I LOVE them!), with my camera in hand and snap a photo of one of my favorite places here...a quiet place..a lovely scene of the creek... with mossy huge rocks, a slow, steady drip of water falling from the bluff above down into a still "lagoon" and hopefully, Jack, my Belgian will follow me (he usually does...hoping for an apple!), and he will peer down through the trees at me, and I can snap him too! He's one of my favorite photo subjects!

I hiked back there and snapped a couple of photos this evening. It was getting a little dusky...but here they are~ Jack and Emmie look like they're posing! Except Emmie is sticking out her tongue... That's a faraway shot from the back pasture, and also my favorite spot in the creek...

Oh wow.....I knew I was a country girl at heart.......I fell in love with these pictures. Glory has been richly blessed by God. WOW.
Well off to New Delhi India for me.....a different type of venture. The back yard is spacious with a bent over gardenia tree...the front yard having a jasmine tree. And there is plenty of open area to take walks on the property without going out into the busy city, if I choose. Thanks Glory for showing us your beautiful photos.

Glory...you are living in my idea of Heaven! Hubby and I are looking for a spot of land with a creek, trees, a space for a large garden and a small home. Darn, you already own it!
The dam on your property looks like one from an old mill. Was there ever a mill on your property? One of our hobbies is traveling around the country looking at old mills and mill sites. My husband would like to own one when he retires.
We are looking for propergy in Tennessee, Kentucky or West Virginia, even north Georgia. If you hear of any like your homestead, please drop me a line.

Nancy, I'm in love with this place. I guess it shows! I'm always snapping photos and taking video of the critters and the land. I hope it doesn't seem like I'm being overly... No, the previous owners built the dam behind the house, and we always have the waterfall sound, but after a nice rain...it just roars! I'd love to have a mill! Have you ever considered living in Mississippi? I might know just the place!

And, Nancy...I forgot to tell you...
I love your saying: I've wept in the night for... The first time I read it I got tears in my eyes~ Is it yours or a quote from another?

I never considered Mississippi because of the hurricanes. I'd be happy to learn more about the land, though.
I have used that quote for years as my philosophy of life but it's not from me. I'm sorry but I have no idea where it came from. It is lovely!

Nancy, How many acres were you interested in? I saw some pretty land for sale closeby and wondered if you'd be interested. It's here in the hills of Tennessee!
Everybody, Are your trees turning? They are here, and they are so beautiful this year!
